With an all-out effort, Quagitup's Barnett Coburn threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabrício Vinhas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Abbott Beverley took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Barnett Coburn to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabrício Vinhas made a kick off. Barnett Coburn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Cochrane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of CYCLIST LIMA ASSOCIATION booed when Quagitup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Howard Shirdon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adam Conlan hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute Fabrício Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnett Coburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
