AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ermegildo Oliverio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Joakim Damm kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ray Clemence. That made the score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play.

Ray Clemence dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 89 minutes into the match, Manly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjy Benton came free, but Ray Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Kian Natanael had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Clemence. Manly FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kian Natanael was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB had won after a very even match.
