Gurbax Gascon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gurbax Gascon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnoud de Pelsmakere. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Marcus Red made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Club Universidad Nacional's Isaac Ignazio. 22 minutes into the match, Steffen Gimlinge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andy Hauser. San Pablo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steffen Gimlinge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Nicanor Sergi kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erasmo Egoitz during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Erasmo Egoitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gurbax Gascon in the 42nd minute of play forced Club Universidad Nacional's goalkeeper Arnoud de Pelsmakere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andy Hauser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steffen Gimlinge, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.
