In the 12th minute, González Vilaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Buenos Muchachos's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Ove Pilblad came free, but Narciso Fominaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Agustin Acuña came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Buenos Muchachos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustin Acuña couldn't finish the play. Buenos Muchachos's Narciso Fominaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Pilblad in the 24th minute of play. If Maximo Barcenas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fortunato Gacel during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Göta FC booed when Buenos Muchachos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fortunato Gacel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joakim Hedlund took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Fominaya. Narciso Fominaya dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Narciso Fominaya came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Göta FC's Karl-Ove Pilblad. But to his dismay, Karl-Ove Pilblad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Fortunato Gacel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bernt Sjöberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Fortunato Gacel slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 42nd minute. The Buenos Muchachos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Göta FC were winning 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joakim Hedlund was the one to do the kick off. Joakim Hedlund received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Narciso Fominaya came out and tried to block the shot, but Joakim Hedlund slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 52nd minute. Joakim Hedlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Narciso Fominaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Göta FC's Magnus Stenberg got a free kick in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Göta FC's zone, González Vilaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernt Sjöberg came out of the goal and González Vilaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the match, Göta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximo Barcenas came free, but Bernt Sjöberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Maximo Barcenas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernt Sjöberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Ove Pilblad in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Narciso Fominaya prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 69 in the game by Joakim Hedlund from a close distance when the talented Narciso Fominaya managed to make a qualified save. Buenos Muchachos's players were relieved. Karl-Ove Pilblad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Narciso Fominaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buenos Muchachos's Narciso Fominaya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Buenos Muchachos from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Joakim Hedlund took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Narciso Fominaya to make any attempt to save it. Joakim Hedlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Fominaya having to interfere. When Igor Lamiar fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buenos Muchachos's protests and gave Igor Lamiar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Göta FC booed when Buenos Muchachos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Lamiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buenos Muchachos's Narciso Fominaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Pilblad in the 96th minute of play. The Buenos Muchachos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Göta FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
