In the 2nd minute Edgard Dubardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germán Burgos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jan Rooney fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guns Reds's protests and gave Jan Rooney a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Jan Rooney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Caio Silveira hit a great ball. Pim Schuurman charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pim Schuurman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ booed when Guns Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pim Schuurman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Caio Silveira notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Guns Reds's Germán Burgos. Germán Burgos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clarence Seedorf could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Germán Burgos made a huge save. Apolo Herensuge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miroslav Kučera's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Germán Burgos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Dubardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apolo Herensuge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslav Kučera in the 26th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Guns Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Dubardo came free, but Germán Burgos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 played minutes Guns Reds got a freekick which was hit by Evelio Saladrigues. Alesander Labarra kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute Caio Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germán Burgos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miroslav Kučera in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Apolo Herensuge saved PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caio Silveira got free with Germán Burgos in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miroslav Kučera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 41st minute Miroslav Kučera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Herensuge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germán Burgos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Dubardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Germán Burgos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio Silveira in the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The Guns Reds fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Guns Reds's Miroslav Kučera looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 55th minute of the match Guns Reds got a corner. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pim Schuurman ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Eutropio Alcubilla managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 58th minute, Miroslav Kučera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Guns Reds's Isadore Lombas got a free kick in the 61st minute. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Kléberson Guedes was substituted for Pavel Bobrov. In the 63rd match minute, Guns Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isadore Lombas to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Mattsson in the 63rd minute of play forced Guns Reds's goalkeeper Germán Burgos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germán Burgos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Dubardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper Apolo Herensuge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eutropio Alcubilla. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Mandrak in the 70th minute of play forced Guns Reds's goalkeeper Germán Burgos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germán Burgos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Dubardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Guns Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Mandrak came free, but Germán Burgos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Matías Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Germán Burgos was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. 84 minutes into the match, Edgard Dubardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Germán Burgos. Guns Reds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Dubardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 88 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Miroslav Kučera came free, but Apolo Herensuge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matías Azevedo took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Germán Burgos. Germán Burgos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When the referee ended the match the PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
