The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Findley in the 7th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eddie Wittingham in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ter Stegen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 7 minutes, Eddie Wittingham made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s zone, Aban McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Moreira came out of the goal and Aban McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juvenal Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torrey Molloy, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ter Stegen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Wittingham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnold McDecland might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juvenal Moreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnold McDecland ran back to his position shaking his head. Torrey Molloy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Juvenal Moreira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Juvenal Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aban McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Torrey Molloy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juvenal Moreira, 1-1. Juvenal Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torrey Molloy in the 30th minute of play. Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derek Findley in the 32nd minute of the match. Rolan McLian hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Wittingham in the 34th minute of play forced 1948 MKS's goalkeeper Ter Stegen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolan McLian kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Lisburn Distillery F.C. getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Colin Wright hit a great ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eddie Wittingham to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes 1948 MKS got a freekick which was hit by Rolan McLian. When Tommy Boyce got free in front of the goal in the 77th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Ter Stegen was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save 1948 MKS from getting a goal against them. Ter Stegen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Boyce in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Rigan Frankson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1948 MKS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rigan Frankson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolan McLian made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Gara Wah. Eddie Wittingham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Ter Stegen made a huge save. The Lisburn Distillery F.C. players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented 1948 MKS from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
