The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Vítor Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Deportivo Craques fc's Van Nistelrooy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armandinho Araújo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Van Nistelrooy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armandinho Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 14th minute Júnior Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamante Negro DK - VV's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vítor Mattos in the 16th minute. The corner led Diamante Negro DK - VV's Vítor Mattos to fire away a dangerous shot which Laércio Trigo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sidnei Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Mauro Freitas got a free kick in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Van Nistelrooy notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Diamante Negro DK - VV's Armandinho Araújo. Armandinho Araújo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Mattos during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Armandinho Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Van Nistelrooy in the 35th minute of the match. Armandinho Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Van Nistelrooy, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Armandinho Araújo came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Craques fc's Van Nistelrooy. But to his dismay, Van Nistelrooy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 44 minutes into the match, Diamante Negro DK - VV's goal looked a bit too open when Van Nistelrooy came free, but Armandinho Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Van Nistelrooy to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Van Nistelrooy fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 53 minutes into the game, Van Nistelrooy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Armandinho Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 56th minute, Sidnei Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laércio Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Lopez in the 59th minute of play. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Armandinho Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ettore Castagna in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Ettore Castagna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Craques fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Armandinho Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ettore Castagna in the 66th minute of play. Reynaldo Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorn Van den Enden kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Craques fc's Armandinho Araújo threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ettore Castagna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Maria Chute got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Diamante Negro DK - VV's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Castagna came free, but Armandinho Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82ndth minute of the game Ettore Castagna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diamante Negro DK - VV's Armandinho Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Diamante Negro DK - VV getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Oséias Fonseca hit a great ball. A collision led to Deportivo Craques fc getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ettore Castagna hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Castagna in the 85th minute of play forced Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalkeeper Armandinho Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ettore Castagna struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Armandinho Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Craques fc. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ettore Castagna in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armandinho Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Craques fc's zone, Reynaldo Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laércio Trigo came out of the goal and Reynaldo Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Diamante Negro DK - VV manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Deportivo Craques fc to win.
