Thomas Ravelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heinz Rummel in the 10th minute of the match. Los Indomables's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heinz Rummel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Los Indomables were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Mathias Holmberg made the kick off in the second half. Heinz Rummel struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Thomas Ravelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Indomables. Ali Haydar Makul's late challenge caught a Los Indomables's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Remigio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Thomas Ravelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Cerilo got free with Thomas Ravelli in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
