In the 12th minute, Laércio Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JFSP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Santio Ilarraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s Gian-Carlo Aponte got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Jacinto in the 19th minute of play forced Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s goalkeeper Santio Ilarraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Aɾɳσɾ FC. defense, Laércio Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santio Ilarraz. The Aɾɳσɾ FC. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santio Ilarraz should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Aɾɳσɾ FC. booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Laércio Torres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santio Ilarraz. Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laércio Torres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Victor Hugo Aristizábal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giorgi Mamardashvili having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gerhard Müller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Gerhard Müller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giorgi Mamardashvili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half JFSP were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ahmet-Sela-Yunus-Emre Brzęczyszczykiewicz made the kick off in the second half. Aɾɳσɾ FC.'s Santio Ilarraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Aɾɳσɾ FC. from getting a goal against them. Laércio Torres struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Santio Ilarraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for JFSP. JFSP made a substitution. Renato Gerber replaced Maurinho Varela. After 85 minutes, Renato Gerber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JFSP and the Aɾɳσɾ FC. players grew even worse after the yellow card.
