João Paraíba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcinho Pernambucano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. João Paraíba scored 2-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcinho Pernambucano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Braga Junior FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Kiko Paraense hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, MINEIROS's Marcinho Pernambucano threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from João Carlos Tróia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Quadros got free with Marcinho Pernambucano in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. MINEIROS's Zé Carlos Azevedo suffered a concussion in the 47th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Samuel Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 48 played minutes Braga Junior FC got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Paraíba. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Carlos Tróia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Raúl Mazza mouthed his way into the referee's book. After a rather tough play, Braga Junior FC's Samuel Paraíba got a free kick in the 81st minute. João Vítor Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Joel Quadros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcinho Pernambucano. Braga Junior FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Quadros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Kiko Rocha took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcinho Pernambucano. Marcinho Pernambucano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paraíba in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcinho Pernambucano saved Braga Junior FC from getting behind. There was no doubt that MINEIROS were the better team. MINEIROS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
