Porter Reese made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jules Boggs however managed to control. Porter Reese hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Merle Pendleton might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frank Lauria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Merle Pendleton ran back to his position shaking his head. Abdel Karim Hanister was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 59 minutes, Jules Boggs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burriss's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jules Boggs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ahmet Turan Kantürk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ahmet Turan Kantürk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abdel Karim Hanister read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Jules Boggs came free, but Frank Lauria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Champions Iasi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Truman Hinton was slow to take the kick. During this time Burriss's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Burriss's corner Truman Hinton fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frank Lauria quite easily take care of the ball. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Turan Kantürk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abdel Karim Hanister was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game.
