Boca Juniors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Ruben Seinstra scored to the left of an out of position Tales Falcão, making the score, 1-0. In the 8th minute, Ruben Seinstra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 10th minute Rogelio Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walther Jano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Ruben Seinstra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tales Falcão. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tales Falcão should have stopped the shot. Ruben Seinstra scored 3-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tales Falcão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Iwan de Lange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Iwan de Lange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Tales Falcão made a huge save. 30 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Tales Falcão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruben Seinstra. 34 minutes into the match, The Maquis's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Duarte came free, but Walther Jano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 36th minute of the game was made by Cecilio Txerran with Martin Jordy as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The Maquis's Ruben Seinstra got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ruben Seinstra managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Maquis's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Seinstra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tales Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 47 minutes, Marcos Gustau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the The Maquis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Gustau to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ruben Seinstra to make the kick off. The supporters of The Maquis booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Quinton didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, The Maquis's goal looked a bit too open when Sabino Brites came free, but Walther Jano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 minutes The Maquis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Igor Udalaitz who took care of the corner kick. In the 73rd minute, Ruben Seinstra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Maquis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Tales Falcão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruben Seinstra went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Martin Jordy got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Ruben Seinstra took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tales Falcão. Tales Falcão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruben Seinstra in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Falcão prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
