Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai Havertz, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kai Havertz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yücel Kayacan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerónimo Furtado got free with Yücel Kayacan in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, one of União Sport Clube Paredes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Edwin van der Sar had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Kai Havertz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Yücel Kayacan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dabi Saens in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, União Sport Clube Paredes's Dabi Saens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yücel Kayacan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Kai Havertz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edwin van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kai Havertz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Kai Havertz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar. Edwin van der Sar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Venancio Carretero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yücel Kayacan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexandre Santana in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Kai Havertz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Edwin van der Sar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerónimo Furtado to make the kick off. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Kai Havertz sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dabi Saens in the 55th minute of play forced Bozkurt's goalkeeper Yücel Kayacan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kai Havertz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Edwin van der Sar made a huge save. 58 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kai Havertz. Bozkurt were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after União Sport Clube Paredes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Philippe Albert took the corner. Yücel Kayacan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Quilo in the 63rd minute of the match. Venancio Carretero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin van der Sar having to interfere. In the 68th minute Alexandre Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yücel Kayacan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Santana in the 75th minute of play forced Bozkurt's goalkeeper Yücel Kayacan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emrullah Erboy in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kai Havertz. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Kai Havertz sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, Bozkurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Vanamets to maneuver through the defense. Edwin van der Sar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kai Havertz's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Bozkurt's Emrullah Erboy. But to his dismay, Emrullah Erboy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bozkurt had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
