Romo Ungo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rd minute, Manuel Nobal made a precise shot to the right of Cederik Huts. Kickers United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The throw-in from Olaf Kochowski in the 25th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Vidal Matamoro. Romo Ungo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Maquiano in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Urki Parga got a free kick in the 29th minute. Cederik Huts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blanco Lambarida in the 31st minute of play. Tomás Firmin lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 32 minutes into the game, one of Kickers United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cederik Huts went to the wrong direction when Manuel Nobal was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Van Den Eynden in the 38th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Romo Ungo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Kickers United defense, Blanco Lambarida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cederik Huts. The Kickers United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cederik Huts should have stopped the shot. Kickers United made a substitution. Iwan Banach replaced Antonio Netels. Kickers United's Will Montens was substituted for Kenny Van Den Eynden. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Manuel Nobal got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 73 minutes of play, Kickers United's Markus Van Bombergen made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romo Ungo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Will Montens showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. With a little luck, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Romo Ungo got control of the ball when Will Montens tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute Markus Van Bombergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romo Ungo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vera Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vera Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, Markus Van Bombergen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kickers United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. The supporters of Kickers United booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urki Parga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the game, Will Montens recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Romo Ungo. Will Montens showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-7. The Inter de Guayaquil FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kickers United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
