The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Franc Merlot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosario Martel in the 8th minute of play. Rosario Martel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, TiGrEs Fx's goal looked a bit too open when Rosario Martel came free, but Franc Merlot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elvio Vásquez made in the 19th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rosario Martel. 26 minutes into the game, Antonio Florian threw the ball into play from the sideline. TiGrEs Fx's Venceslao Espada quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Gilberto Rancaño managed to get in a good position for a shot. TiGrEs Fx's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Rancaño was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calixto Inchaurdi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rosario Martel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamza Emin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franc Merlot having to make a save. Franc Merlot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamza Emin in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hamza Emin made a kick off. After 62 minutes of play, Atlético Grau Piura's Conrado Guter made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franc Merlot was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Guter in the 67th minute of play forced TiGrEs Fx's goalkeeper Franc Merlot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Hamza Emin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franc Merlot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Grau Piura's Antonio Cugini was substituted for Huly Larrauri. After a defensive mix-up in TiGrEs Fx's zone, Conrado Guter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franc Merlot came out of the goal and Conrado Guter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Agüero in the 82nd minute of play forced TiGrEs Fx's goalkeeper Franc Merlot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, TiGrEs Fx's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Agüero came free, but Franc Merlot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Conrado Guter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Franc Merlot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Agüero in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franc Merlot saved TiGrEs Fx from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atlético Grau Piura had won after a very even match.
