The FC Bal op het Dak fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Bomba should have stopped the shot. With his leg Rene Vereijt managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when FC Bal op het Dak's Dan Kjellman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John-Paul Locatelli in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, John-Paul Locatelli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bal op het Dak fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. A collision led to FC Bal op het Dak getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cobus Harding hit a great ball. The FC Bal op het Dak players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Ouagadougou National were winning 1-3.

FC Bal op het Dak's Marick Brunt was substituted for Aristides Gombal. Rene Vereijt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marick Brunt's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Marick Brunt sped through FC Ouagadougou National's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rene Vereijt. The audience was convinced that Dan Kjellman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Vereijt was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. If Nazmi Tanberk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Bal op het Dak made a substitution. Nico Hagenouw replaced Válbson Almeida. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iwan Valentijn in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Vereijt saved FC Ouagadougou National from getting behind. FC Ouagadougou National's Jedrzej Kiszkiel was substituted for William Westelinx. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurício Bomba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marick Brunt in the 94th minute of play. The FC Ouagadougou National supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Ouagadougou National would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
