Hedy Lamarr Hoppers's Rajiv Pathak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Hedy Lamarr Hoppers from getting a goal against them. Sebestyén Bártfai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rajiv Pathak having to interfere. György Görbe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Cook in the 40th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Hedy Lamarr Hoppers got a freekick which was hit by David Cook. 45 minutes into the match, Héreg SC's goal looked a bit too open when David Cook came free, but György Görbe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Héreg SC's György Görbe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Cook in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Héreg SC defense, Colin Sharman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of György Görbe. The Héreg SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that György Görbe should have stopped the shot. 90 minutes in the game Aurél Lázár did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Kálmán Pintér. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
