The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cătălin Gârniceanu, 1-0. Marin Preda hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute MIT Craiova were awarded a corner. Nicodim Orășan went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Pumnu in the 17th minute of play forced MIT Craiova's goalkeeper Emanuel Blajovan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Geantă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cătălin Gârniceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cătălin Gârniceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiberiu Caramarin's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute MIT Craiova were awarded a corner. MIT Craiova's Nicodim Orășan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cătălin Gârniceanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Cătălin Gârniceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Caramarin in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cătălin Gârniceanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the last second Cătălin Gârniceanu throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tiberiu Caramarin in the 35thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Cătălin Gârniceanu came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin. But to his dismay, Tiberiu Caramarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 41 minutes into the match, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Cătălin Gârniceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel Militaru charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Militaru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Marcel Militaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of MIT Craiova booed when -BZF- Valea Buzăului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remus Postelnicescu didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiberiu Caramarin to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Cătălin Gârniceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cătălin Gârniceanu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiberiu Caramarin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Cătălin Gârniceanu had in the 61stth minute some difficulties stopping Romeo Gherghescu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Fabian Geantă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cătălin Gârniceanu having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Tiberiu Caramarin made a precise shot to the right of Cătălin Gârniceanu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MIT Craiova reached it. 94 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's goalkeeper Emanuel Blajovan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Pumnu.
