Edorta Portillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Spain's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Coronel Castro got free with Caleb Barrett in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Coronel Castro in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Caleb Barrett, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 14 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Larry Hallam came free, but Nacho Molina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maxi Gambetta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesc Tamari in the 34th minute of play forced Andorra's goalkeeper Caleb Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th match minute, Spain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lico Pareja to maneuver through the defense. Caleb Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesc Tamari in the 38th minute of the match. Larry Hallam helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, Larry Hallam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Larry Hallam hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Andorra's goal looked a bit too open when Francesc Tamari came free, but Caleb Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillem Agulló was the one to do the kick off. Spain's Nacho Molina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. Nacho Molina made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Larry Hallam sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the game, Spain's Maxi Gambetta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Caleb Barrett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maxi Gambetta in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caleb Barrett saved Andorra from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larry Hallam in the 61st minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Nacho Molina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caleb Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesc Tamari in the 63rd minute of the match. The penalty shot was made by Froilan Reyes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Andorra's Caleb Barrett. 5-0. 72 minutes into the match, Froilan Reyes notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Andorra's Caleb Barrett. Caleb Barrett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nacho Molina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ildefonso Lima's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Caleb Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Reyes, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 86th minute Coronel Fuster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caleb Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Andorra's Sidney Attenborough got a free kick in the 88th minute. Nacho Molina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillem Agulló, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute Froilan Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caleb Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Andorra booed when Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edorta Portillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andorra's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
