In the 37th minute, Cheche Collantes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gustavo Navaes, passed just outside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cheche Collantes in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Navaes saved peru from getting behind. The attack was good, but when Genaro Pujargimon in the 44th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Baldovino Zumista hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Valentim Barreiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gustavo Navaes. peru's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Quentin Olan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 64 minutes, Hechter Bichesne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hechter Bichesne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valentim Barreiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustavo Navaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cheche Collantes in the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of peru booed when Sancor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beremundo Ureña didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Cheche Collantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sancor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cheche Collantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sancor's Jose-Antonio Bodega got a free kick in the 88th minute. peru's Gustavo Navaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Pujargimon in the 92nd minute of play. Hechter Bichesne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cordarrel Marina having to interfere.
