Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ignacio Lauro started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Rafael de la Rosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Moises Ordoña was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Fulgencio Tolino hit a great ball. Moises Ordoña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Lauro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Ignacio Lauro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Ordoña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Xicu Semprun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Roberto Bermudo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Bargas. Moises Ordoña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Lauro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Lauro in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moises Ordoña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. River Plate's Roberto Bermudo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save River Plate from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Club Deportivo Logroño getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Valdo Fitado hit a great ball. Eduardo Mondragon hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Club Deportivo Logroño defense, Ignacio Lauro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moises Ordoña. The Club Deportivo Logroño fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moises Ordoña should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Enrique Bargas made the kick off in the second half. Roberto Bermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xicu Semprun, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Enrique Bargas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. River Plate's Xzaiver Vicioso was substituted for Xabier Bildosteguy. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Logroño's Enrique Bargas got a free kick in the 60th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Logroño's goal looked a bit too open when Stalin Cabezuela came free, but Moises Ordoña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Eduardo Mondragon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Bermudo came out of the goal and Eduardo Mondragon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Xoan Rivadeneira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignacio Lauro got free with Moises Ordoña in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rafael de la Rosa took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moises Ordoña. Moises Ordoña dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. River Plate made a substitution. Jonatan Rioseco replaced Stalin Cabezuela. 76 minutes into the game, Ignacio Lauro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Moises Ordoña was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Ignacio Lauro notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Club Deportivo Logroño's Moises Ordoña. Moises Ordoña was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enrique Bargas during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Enrique Bargas hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When Rafael de la Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Rafael de la Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 97 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Rafael de la Rosa. River Plate's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
