In the 7th minute, Thomas Lemon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boyd Montoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Russ Thurman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roberto Albert went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the turkısh team defense, Scotty Hargrove kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donnie Faulk. The turkısh team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donnie Faulk should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. Donnie Faulk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Weston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samson AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Scotty Hargrove was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donnie Faulk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Weston, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Roberto Albert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scotty Hargrove in the 89th minute of play forced turkısh team's goalkeeper Donnie Faulk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
