Zachery Dailey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jesus Lyons hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Darrell Bristol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Bettendorf booed when Samson AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Weston didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Godwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Samson AFC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kirk Hearn hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darrell Bristol in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Russ Thurman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tuan Aviles hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Zachery Dailey made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Scotty Hargrove sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th match minute, Samson AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scotty Hargrove to maneuver through the defense. After 39 played minutes, Bettendorf's Clint Abel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Russ Thurman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bettendorf reached it. In the 41stth minute of the game Darrell Bristol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samson AFC's Russ Thurman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russ Thurman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darrell Bristol in the 43rd minute of play. If Tuan Aviles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Ahmet Korcan Demirel put in a rough tackle. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bettendorf! The referee gave Samson AFC a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Norberto Easley, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bettendorf's Zachery Dailey. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steve Weston to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th match minute, Samson AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Lyons to maneuver through the defense. Darrell Bristol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Samson AFC's goalkeeper Russ Thurman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kirk Hearn hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. If Jon Aagaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 minutes, Lucas Godwin made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Samson AFC's Russ Thurman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th match minute, Bettendorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Godwin to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Godwin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russ Thurman having to interfere. Zachery Dailey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Weston in the 84th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Bettendorf's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Weston came free, but Zachery Dailey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Jon Aagaard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bettendorf's supporters rose to their feet, but Jon Aagaard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Thurman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lucas Godwin came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Bettendorf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Godwin couldn't finish the play. Bettendorf's Clint Abel was responsible for 1-4 with a brilliant performance in the 98th minute when he, by himself, got past the opponents defense and with a quick shot sent the ball into the goal to the left of Russ Thurman.
