Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Mariusz Szotek made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Vale in the 3rd minute of play forced Remo's goalkeeper Júlio Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 3rd match minute, Remo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Neves to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FLAMENGO FC. getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rômulo Bezerra hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO FC.'s goalkeeper Jean Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Smedfeldt. Júlio Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Vale in the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Remo's zone, Luiz Fábio Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Botelho came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the game, Silas Vergílio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLAMENGO FC.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Remo the free kick. In the 25th match minute, FLAMENGO FC. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Szotek came free, but Jean Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FLAMENGO FC. booed when Remo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Martin Smedfeldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fábio Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Remo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Osvaldinho Fonseca was slow to take the kick. During this time FLAMENGO FC.'s players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FLAMENGO FC.'s corner Osvaldinho Fonseca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Júlio Botelho quite easily take care of the ball. Jean Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Smedfeldt's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Júlio Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Vale in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th minute FLAMENGO FC. were awarded a corner. Osvaldinho Fonseca went to the cornerflag to take it. Martin Smedfeldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Vale in the 75th minute of play forced Remo's goalkeeper Júlio Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Dedê Cordeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean Leme. FLAMENGO FC.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedê Cordeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jean Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariusz Szotek, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes into the game, Rômulo Bezerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLAMENGO FC.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Remo the free kick. Mariusz Szotek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jean Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Martin Smedfeldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Mariusz Szotek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean Leme was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. 2-0 became the score in the 92nd minute when Martin Smedfeldt elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Remo had played much better football throughout.
