An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Custódio in the 29th minute of play forced Bota Fogo RJ's goalkeeper Manolo Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edson Fernandez in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente Lopez saved Sucatinga from getting behind. Emanuel Mesquita struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Clemente Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bota Fogo RJ.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edson Fernandez was the one to do the kick off. If Edson Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Clemente Lopez made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Edson Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. Edson Fernandez took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Lopez. Clemente Lopez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Abreu in the 76th minute of play forced Bota Fogo RJ's goalkeeper Manolo Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edson Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 96 played minutes Emanuel Mesquita rounded Sucatinga's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3.
