Arí Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the Rio Branco FC defense, Leonel Simões kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arí Sergipano. The Rio Branco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arí Sergipano should have stopped the shot. Arí Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Rio Branco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Montenegro came free, but Arí Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes in the game, Ernesto Massa got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. A collision led to Rio Branco FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Gerson Faria hit a great ball. Arí Sergipano came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Pajeuzinho EC's Leonel Simões. But to his dismay, Leonel Simões quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Arí Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jefferson Cardoso took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arí Sergipano. Arí Sergipano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The supporters of Pajeuzinho EC booed when Rio Branco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerson Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Rio Branco FC's Hélio Amaral got a free kick in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ernesto Massa to strike the kick off in the second half. Arí Sergipano made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Víktor Simões sent off a good shot on target. Rio Branco FC's Arí Sergipano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Branco FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Rio Branco FC's Arí Sergipano got control of the ball when Jefferson Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Víktor Simõess short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Arí Sergipano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Leonel Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Montenegro in the 85th minute of play forced Rio Branco FC's goalkeeper Arí Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Rio Branco FC got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Ortiz. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Branco FC's zone, Leandro Britto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arí Sergipano came out of the goal and Leandro Britto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 94 played minutes Rio Branco FC got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Massa.
