An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Catarinense in the 22nd minute of play forced HOPE FC's goalkeeper Frank Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Freire was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Adhemar Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in HOPE FC's zone, Edu Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Penha came out of the goal and Edu Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
