Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Afonso Loureiro took the kick off in the first half of the match. Marquinhos Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute of the match FLAMENGO got a corner. República Rio-Grandense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emerson Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. FLAMENGO's Dieguinho Marquez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marquinhos Vinhas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 9 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Meira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Celso Leão, 1-0. Luís Fabiano Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Leão having to interfere. After 15 played minutes República Rio-Grandense got a freekick which was hit by Tião Tinoco. Dieguinho Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Vinhas having to interfere. Wanderson Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marquinhos Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marquinhos Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Medeiros in the 21st minute of the match. If Raphael Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Wanderson Dracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 25 minutes, Luís Fabiano Meira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the República Rio-Grandense and the FLAMENGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luís Fabiano Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Diego da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Emerson Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to República Rio-Grandense getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Tião Tinoco hit a great ball. Kléberson de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raphael Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Wanderson Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th match minute, FLAMENGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Marques to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fabiano Meira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Celso Leão made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raphael Pires to strike the kick off in the second half. Wanderson Dracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Vinhas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Tinoco in the 56th minute of play forced FLAMENGO's goalkeeper Celso Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Medeiros in the 61st minute of play. Raphael Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Vinhas having to interfere. Kléberson de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Raphael Pires put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Marquinhos Vinhas. Raphael Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Marquinhos Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Raphael Pires left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FLAMENGO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Celso Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Meira in the 87th minute of play. After 88 played minutes FLAMENGO got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson de Castro. 90 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fabiano Meira came free, but Celso Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 91 minutes, Germano Alves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the República Rio-Grandense and the FLAMENGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FLAMENGO booed when República Rio-Grandense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. FLAMENGO played a much better game than República Rio-Grandense and deserved their victory. The República Rio-Grandense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
