In the 8th minute, one of GRAVATAI RS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for GRAVATAI RS. If Robinho Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Robinho Cunha got free in front of the goal in the 20th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Arlindo da Silveira was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 22nd match minute, GRAVATAI RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Paulo Souto to maneuver through the defense. Basílio do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, GRAVATAI RS's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Nogueira came free, but Emílio Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Basílio do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in GRAVATAI RS's zone, Basílio do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Custódio came out of the goal and Basílio do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to GRAVATAI RS getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Elias Amaral hit a great ball. Luiz Cruz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Gilvan Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 47 minutes, Basílio do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cucaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilvan Nogueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Cacá Porto hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Arlindo da Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robinho Cunha's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in GRAVATAI RS's zone, Basílio do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Custódio came out of the goal and Basílio do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilvan Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Emílio Custódio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cucaia. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Basílio do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cucaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robinho Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Emílio Custódio managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Cucaia's Basílio do Vale fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arlindo da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias de Sena in the 79th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias de Sena in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arlindo da Silveira saved Cucaia from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, GRAVATAI RS's goalkeeper Emílio Custódio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio do Vale. If Robinho Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GRAVATAI RS's Emílio Custódio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save GRAVATAI RS from getting a goal against them. Emílio Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emílio Custódio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan Nogueira's shot from short distance in the 95th minute.
