The Fluminense RO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yan da Cunha should have stopped the shot. Yan da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Guerreiro in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Walter Neto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kauã de Amorim. Walter Neto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Márcio Pontes struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Yan da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Santa Tereza. In the 32nd match minute, Fluminense RO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Yan da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Duarte in the 35th minute of the match. Kauã de Amorim came out of the goal and Walter Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zbigniew Deput was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, one of Fluminense RO:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fluminense RO. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Deportivo Santa Tereza. Alex Toledo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Yan da Cunha. 1-2. The Fluminense RO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Deportivo Santa Tereza to win.
