The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tadeu da Costa struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Silvinho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎«. When Geovânio Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎« fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovânio Tavares couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Monjolos EC's Silvinho Maranhense got control of the ball when Uno Ojamaa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Monjolos EC's Carlos Castro got a free kick in the 10th minute. Filomeno Pasqual had several of the Monjolos EC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Silvinho Maranhense as he didn't even see the shot coming. Monjolos EC's Silvinho Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filomeno Pasqual in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Filomeno Pasqual got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Filomeno Pasqual fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 26th minute, Josué Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvinho Maranhense was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 29th minute, Geovânio Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎« fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Filomeno Pasqual blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvinho Maranhense having to make a save. Silvinho Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filomeno Pasqual's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎«'s Geovânio Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filomeno Pasqual's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvinho Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After 46 played minutes »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎« got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Pasqual. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tião Berger to strike the kick off in the second half. Bebeto Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Filomeno Pasqual's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvinho Maranhense was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. If Filomeno Pasqual had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Alcides Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Monjolos EC defense, Filomeno Pasqual kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvinho Maranhense. The Monjolos EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvinho Maranhense should have stopped the shot. After 71 minutes Monjolos EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedro Luiz Abreu who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Pedro Luiz Abreu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Silvinho Maranhense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 72 minutes into the match, Filomeno Pasqual had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvinho Maranhense. Monjolos EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filomeno Pasqual was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. If Filomeno Pasqual had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 77 minutes into the game, »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎«'s Filomeno Pasqual nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvinho Maranhense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. In the 80th minute, Jeferson de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎«'s Pedro Luiz Abreu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Monjolos EC. Filomeno Pasqual received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Silvinho Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84thth minute of the game Geovânio Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monjolos EC's Silvinho Maranhense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvinho Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Pasqual in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Geovânio Tavares notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Monjolos EC's Silvinho Maranhense. Silvinho Maranhense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Filomeno Pasqual managed to get in a good position for a shot. »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎«'s supporters rose to their feet, but Filomeno Pasqual was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 96th minute, Tadeu da Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvinho Maranhense was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. When the referee ended the match the »◎PERNAMBUCANOS◎« players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
