But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Castel couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the game, Clemente Florinio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Evelio Clis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Castel made a kick off. Batel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cienaguita the free kick. A collision led to Batel getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Joel Ipar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Gonzalo Castel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A hard shot 80 in the game by Gonzalo Castel from a close distance when the talented Evelio Clis managed to make a qualified save. Batel's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice moves Gonzalo Castel could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Evelio Clis however easily saved by the left post. The penalty shot was made by Tomas Matxin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cienaguita's Joel Ipar. 4-1. 97 minutes into the match, Apolo Jeraldo notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Cienaguita's Joel Ipar. Joel Ipar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Batel's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
