Zé Carlos Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Llorian in the 6th minute of the match. Oliver Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Ramone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almagro's Oliver Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amador Reyes in the 13th minute of play. Elpidio Llorian might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Carlos Ferraz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Llorian ran back to his position shaking his head. Elpidio Llorian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augusto Rutenio charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Rutenio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Almagro's Augusto Rutenio got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Elpidio Llorian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Carlos Ferraz. Elpidio Llorian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Elpidio Llorian came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Llorian couldn't finish the play. Amador Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Oliver Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Almagro's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Reyes came free, but Oliver Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, NEWCASTLE CORDOBES F.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Carlos Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Llorian. When Damaso Lugo fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NEWCASTLE CORDOBES F.C.'s protests and gave Damaso Lugo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Almagro booed when NEWCASTLE CORDOBES F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Lugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Almagro's Oliver Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Baleren in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Almagro's Elpidio Llorian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Llorian to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Elequemedo charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Llorian in the 89th minute of play forced NEWCASTLE CORDOBES F.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Carlos Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Almagro's Pascual Gudesteo got a free kick in the 90th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Natalio Ramone got free with Oliver Kahn in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
