The referee ignored Depo Merlo Oeste's protests and gave Silvestre Castel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Depo Merlo Oeste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Castel to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute of the match Desiderio Elivareo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Saul Ongile skillfully saved the ball. Placido Colas hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Ambrosio Mazuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliciano Kiliz having to interfere. Clodoveo Ruy charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clodoveo Ruy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arturo Cordara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Feliciano Kiliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrosio Mazuste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Placido Henry. After 58 played minutes Depo Merlo Oeste got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Cordara. If Arturo Cordara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ambrosio Mazuste's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Feliciano Kiliz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Saul Ongile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Americo Panpili in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Americo Panpili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Ongile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ambrosio Mazuste came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Depo Merlo Oeste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ambrosio Mazuste couldn't finish the play. In the 90th match minute, Depo Merlo Oeste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Che to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Depo Merlo Oeste was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcial Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
