Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Potato Chasers's Dylon Smith started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Junior Lambert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vic Goodall made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Denny Atkinson sent off a good shot on target. Devon Cousens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Goodall having to interfere. Dylon Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Denny Atkinson came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Potato Chasers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denny Atkinson couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Vic Goodall successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Denny Atkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Vic Goodall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sammy Little fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Beattie having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Toby Beckett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 32 minutes, Oscar Hornsby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bourne End and the Potato Chasers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Hornsby kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. If Sammy Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Bourne End booed when Potato Chasers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devon Cousens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isaac Beattie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toby Beckett went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Toby Beckett's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Isaac Beattie firmly grabbed it by the left post. Bourne End's Toby Beckett got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toby Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes in the game, Sammy Little fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Isaac Beattie having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Potato Chasers's zone, Toby Beckett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Beattie came out of the goal and Toby Beckett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute Denny Atkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vic Goodall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Denny Atkinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Potato Chasers's supporters rose to their feet, but Denny Atkinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic Goodall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toby Beckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Sammy Little managed to get in a good position for a shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Bourne End players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
