The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viktor Samuelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Engman having to interfere. Robert Engman came out of the goal and Viktor Samuelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Salems NK booed when Sputnik FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Finnman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Gunnarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Viktor Samuelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Salems NK's Robert Engman got control of the ball when Niklas Rudkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jan-Erik Winström's late challenge caught a Sputnik FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan-Erik Winström helped the player get up and apologised. Jan-Erik Winström kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Niklas Rudkvist could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Robert Engman however easily saved by the left post. Sputnik FC's Viktor Västerstrand couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Salems NK. In the 35th minute, Salems NK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Niklas Rudkvist fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sputnik FC's Viktor Samuelsson got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Salems NK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sverker Tunander to maneuver through the defense. If Viktor Samuelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sputnik FC getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Viktor Samuelsson hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viktor Samuelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salems NK's Mathias Gunnarsson suffered a sore foot after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magnus Finnman during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Sputnik FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Salems NK:s goal. Sputnik FC:s Eskil Kjellbom showed great skill when he stopped Ivar Ek:s penalty. In the 57th minute, Ivar Ek made a precise shot to the right of Eskil Kjellbom. Sputnik FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 60th minute, Nils-Åke Fors hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Niklas Rudkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Salems NK booed when Sputnik FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Odman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lucas Bokelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salems NK's Robert Engman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niklas Rudkvist in the 80th minute of play. Lucas Bokelund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Eskil Kjellbom made a huge save. 93 minutes into the match, Sputnik FC's Niklas Rudkvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Engman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Niklas Rudkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sputnik FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niklas Rudkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 99th minute Niklas Rudkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Salems NK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
