After a defensive mix-up in Vårgårda's zone, Algot Björk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staffan Persson came out of the goal and Algot Björk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Torsten Markusson took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Vik. Jon Vik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jon Vik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torsten Markusson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Harald Aspengren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Staffan Persson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingvar Askberg during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Älghult FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
