The referee gave FC Phoenix a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastiaan Scholten in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Prins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julius Prins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastiaan Scholten in the 16th minute of the match. If Erik Plaggenborg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the game, Marco Bennink was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Football club San Marco the free kick. A collision led to FC Phoenix getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marco Bennink hit a great ball. If Sebastiaan Scholten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dirk-Jan Hofman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wielens, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastiaan Scholten in the 30th minute of play forced Football club San Marco's goalkeeper Julius Prins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julius Prins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastiaan Scholten in the 32nd minute of play. FC Phoenix's Peter Bruintjes got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastiaan Scholten in the 37th minute of play forced Football club San Marco's goalkeeper Julius Prins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Bruintjes might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julius Prins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Bruintjes ran back to his position shaking his head. When Football club San Marco's Wim Wielens in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Phoenix's goalie prevented a goal. Wim Wielens might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dirk-Jan Hofman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wielens ran back to his position shaking his head.

A hard shot 52 in the game by Peter Bruintjes from a close distance when the talented Julius Prins managed to make a qualified save. Football club San Marco's players were relieved. Erik Plaggenborg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute, Wim Wielens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Plaggenborg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk-Jan Hofman having to interfere. Wim Wielens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk-Jan Hofman having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Football club San Marco's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastiaan Scholten came free, but Julius Prins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Football club San Marco:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Phoenix:s goal. Dirk-Jan Hofman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Plaggenborg's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Football club San Marco's zone, Peter Bruintjes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julius Prins came out of the goal and Peter Bruintjes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
