Youri Oosterman was slow to take the kick. During this time Windesheim FC's players had a chance to rest. After 47 minutes, Dries Wijk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windesheim FC and the Varsel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Varsel players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Windesheim FC were winning 0-2.

Jan-Peter Kamps recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 58 played minutes Varsel got a freekick which was hit by Wessel Sibon. Jan-Peter Kamps struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan-Peter Kamps in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Dowie saved Varsel from getting behind. Ralf Baalen lost his temper 70 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Varsel fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! Jan-Peter Kamps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Dowie having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jan-Peter Kamps managed to get in a good position for a shot. Windesheim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Peter Kamps was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacob Dowie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Taco Alberts struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. With his leg Jacob Dowie managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Windesheim FC's Henny van Nieuwstadt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Varsel's zone, Henny van Nieuwstadt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Dowie came out of the goal and Henny van Nieuwstadt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Peter Kamps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Jan-Peter Kamps got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
