Charlie Hasselbach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmar Kremer, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Charlie Hasselbach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernie Bäcker in the 28th minute of play. Bart Hartmann made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Armin Opitz sent off a good shot on target. Bart Hartmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tim Hoffmann in the 32nd minute of the match. Hellmuth Creuzburg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bart Hartmann. F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Club Athletic Lëtzebuerg's Charlie Hasselbach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elmar Kremer in the 41st minute of play. Bart Hartmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tim Hoffmann in the 43rd minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, F.C. Shalke Overligger's Ernie Bäcker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charlie Hasselbach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernie Bäcker to make the kick off. Tim Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Opitz in the 58th minute of play forced F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalkeeper Bart Hartmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jérôme Lützel kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. F.C. Shalke Overligger's Stefan Bronstein shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 61st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Charlie Hasselbach but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Hoffmann in the 65th minute of play forced F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalkeeper Bart Hartmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Elmar Kremer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Shalke Overligger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elmar Kremer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Armin Opitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armin Opitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, Elmar Kremer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Athletic Lëtzebuerg's Charlie Hasselbach. Charlie Hasselbach was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Elmar Kremers short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Charlie Hasselbach to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 89 minutes of play, Club Athletic Lëtzebuerg's Tim Hoffmann made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bart Hartmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Elmar Kremer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
