Poggio Superiore's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cornaredo the free kick. A collision led to Cornaredo getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Anselmo Nanni hit a great ball. Domenico Macchia shot from long distance in the 21st minute, but Donato Corvi was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Carmine Lauro succeeded in the game's 22nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Carmine Lauro scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beppe Barberio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Carmine Lauro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beppe Barberio was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Donato Corvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eraldo Del Prete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donato Corvi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Cirulli in the 61st minute of play. Carmine Anastasi in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Beppe Barberio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Carmine Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beppe Barberio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carmine Anastasi in the 71st minute. Cornaredo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmine Lauro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Poggio Superiore's Beppe Barberio got control of the ball when Carmine Anastasi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antonello Cirulli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Poggio Superiore booed when Cornaredo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Renzetti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute Eraldo Del Prete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Corvi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eraldo Del Prete struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Donato Corvi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poggio Superiore. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Cirulli in the 89th minute of play forced Cornaredo's goalkeeper Donato Corvi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eraldo Del Prete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Corvi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Cirulli in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cornaredo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
