The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tarik Albermann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, François-Xavier Guichon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tarik Albermann. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that François-Xavier Guichon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 13 minutes into the match, WenigeAaberVerrückt's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Bernhauer came free, but Heiko Tokody reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. WenigeAaberVerrückt's Heiko Tokody proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save WenigeAaberVerrückt from getting a goal against them. Tarik Albermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from François-Xavier Guichon in the 16th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Jörg Kleppinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th match minute, WenigeAaberVerrückt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Domingo to maneuver through the defense. Tarik Albermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from François-Xavier Guichon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heiko Tokody showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Bernhauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, WenigeAaberVerrückt's goal looked a bit too open when Maximilian Henning came free, but Heiko Tokody reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian Henning in the 62nd minute of play forced WenigeAaberVerrückt's goalkeeper Heiko Tokody to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, WenigeAaberVerrückt's goal looked a bit too open when Maximilian Henning came free, but Heiko Tokody reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Maximilian Henning cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Heiko Tokody was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. WenigeAaberVerrückt made a substitution. Konstantin Knispel replaced François-Xavier Guichon. Tarik Albermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Konstantin Knispel came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the WenigeAaberVerrückt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konstantin Knispel couldn't finish the play. Jens Jung's late challenge caught a Rot-Weiss-Essen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens Jung helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arno Claußen to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched WenigeAaberVerrückt eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
