The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isac Udup in the 3rd minute of play forced Basil's goalkeeper Narcis Murgescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narcis Murgescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodor Zăvoiu went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Narcis Murgescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugurel Iovanovici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dragoş Elenescu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Șerban Spineanu 9 minutes into the match. Eduard Vintilescu kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Dragoş Elenescu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Șerban Spineanu, passed just outside the right post. Dragoş Elenescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basil's Narcis Murgescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Iovanovici in the 17th minute of play. Sever Purje fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Murgescu having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Petru Milea made a precise shot to the right of Narcis Murgescu. Basil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Basil's Narcis Murgescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Iovanovici in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Teodor Zăvoiu notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Basil's Narcis Murgescu. Narcis Murgescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Isac Udup's late challenge caught a Basil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isac Udup helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, F.C. Vulturu. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isac Udup to maneuver through the defense. If Isac Udup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sever Purje managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Vulturu.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Sever Purje was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narcis Murgescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of F.C. Vulturu. booed when Basil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Zbughină didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Petru Milea came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the F.C. Vulturu. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petru Milea couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dragoş Elenescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Petru Milea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Narcis Murgescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Petru Milea slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute of the match Eduard Vintilescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Narcis Murgescu skillfully saved the ball. Narcis Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Zăvoiu in the 64th minute of play. After 68 minutes of play, Basil's Costin Nițisor made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Șerban Spineanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Narcis Murgescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petru Milea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Mircea Tănasă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narcis Murgescu was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. After 88 minutes, Dragoş Elenescu made it 3-7 with a short kick to the right side. F.C. Vulturu.'s Șerban Spineanu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Cazimir Grozuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The F.C. Vulturu. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing F.C. Vulturu. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
