Sümer Yavuzalp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aziz Özay having to make a save. A collision led to fenerbahce getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Atacan Türe hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Kulp:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of fenerbahce:s goal. Kulp:s Aziz Özay showed great skill when he stopped Sümer Yavuzalp:s penalty. When Vecdet Eroğuz came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the fenerbahce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vecdet Eroğuz couldn't finish the play. Sümer Yavuzalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The attack was good, but when Sümer Yavuzalp in the 24th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sümer Yavuzalps short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Aziz Özay to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Doğan Uludağ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Cumhur Okanay, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Vecdet Eroğuz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Özay having to interfere. Sümer Yavuzalps short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Aziz Özay to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 38th minute Vural İdrisoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doğan Uludağ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sümer Yavuzalp got free with Aziz Özay in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, Ergincan Zaim dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aziz Özay, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sümer Yavuzalp made a kick off. If Sümer Yavuzalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes fenerbahce got a freekick which was hit by Ergincan Zaim. Hurşit Dürüst took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Doğan Uludağ. fenerbahce's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience was convinced that Sümer Yavuzalp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aziz Özay was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Sümer Yavuzalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of fenerbahce booed when Kulp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vural İdrisoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Sümer Yavuzalp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. fenerbahce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sümer Yavuzalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
