Altan Cihannur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Balikesir getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Fedai Kunt hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes, Sürmenespor's Haldun Özil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Çağlar Yöner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sürmenespor reached it. Fedai Kunt kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Nuralp Bucuk hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Altan Cihannur fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 29th minute, Dorukhan Sefaaddin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sezen Kotuzhan kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Songur Önen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hurşit Tümerkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sürmenespor's Nuralp Bucuk got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Songur Önen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Aziz Kayan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Balikesir's goalkeeper Çağlar Yöner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Altan Cihannur to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Kayan in the 69th minute of play forced Sürmenespor's goalkeeper Hurşit Tümerkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes Sürmenespor's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Özgür Adalıoğlu who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sürmenespor's goalie and right to Cebrail Temircan. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sürmenespor's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Hurşit Tümerkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aziz Kayan in the 73rd minute of play. Yıldırım Tuğsan kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. If Dorukhan Sefaaddin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Yıldırım Tuğsan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Çağlar Yöner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Altan Cihannur's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Altan Cihannur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Balikesir supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Balikesir would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
