The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dumitru Pantelimon got a throw-in 3 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Radu Păvăloae. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wieslaw Marud in the 7th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Gelu Crușeveanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Emilian Ciprian put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Academia Rio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Carlsberg:s goal. Through a series of nice moves, FC Carlsberg's Denis Aurelianu on his own came free in the 15th minute of the match and shot 1-0 behind a disappointed Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Carlsberg's Wieslaw Marud. But to his dismay, Wieslaw Marud quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 25th play minute Wieslaw Marud came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gigel Tilea. 3-0. Wieslaw Marud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Gigel Tilea made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wieslaw Marud in the 30th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd play minute Wieslaw Marud came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gigel Tilea. 4-0. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Wieslaw Marud came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, FC Carlsberg's Wieslaw Marud nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gigel Tilea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wieslaw Marud to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Wieslaw Marud left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Carlsberg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Gigel Tilea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wieslaw Marud went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. FC Carlsberg's Aurelian Mirciu was substituted for Emanuel Petrulean. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wieslaw Marud in the 62nd minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. James Novak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 63rd minute of play. FC Carlsberg's Remus Costeiantu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dumitru Pantelimon in the 64 minute of the game. In the 65th minute Wieslaw Marud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wieslaw Marud in the 67th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigel Tilea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wieslaw Marud went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 71stth minute of the game Wieslaw Marud who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Carlsberg's Lothaire Matthäus managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dumitru Pantelimon in the 73 minute of the game. Wieslaw Marud took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. If Dumitru Pantelimon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Carlsberg made a substitution. Gică Aristide replaced Gavril Sichitiu. 79 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Adrían Addi came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Carlsberg's Marius Corocăescu got a free kick in the 81st minute. 83 minutes into the match, Adrían Addi notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the match, Adrían Addi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigel Tilea. Academia Rio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrían Addi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. 90 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Wieslaw Marud came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radu Păvăloae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 93 minutes into the match, FC Carlsberg's goalkeeper James Novak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergiu Coșeriu. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 12-0 when Wieslaw Marud sped through Academia Rio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gigel Tilea. FC Carlsberg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
