Raimundo Torres hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Marcos Ramalho scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarbas Lago, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jarbas Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Velasco in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Habib Ali Picavea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Habib Ali Picavea took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarbas Lago. Jarbas Lago dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Daniel Couto hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Marcos Ramalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morro Grande E.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 32nd minute Diguinho Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélder Velasco took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarbas Lago. Morro Grande E.C's Cláudio Braga suffered a concussion in the 45th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Morro Grande E.C's Habib Ali Picavea tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Catugi FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Morro Grande E.C were winning 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beto Mangueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Catugi FC's Diguinho Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Ramalho got free with Jarbas Lago in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Catugi FC's Jarbas Lago got control of the ball when Marcos Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gláuber Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diguinho Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Sá succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-7. 81 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Ramalho came free, but Jarbas Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Catugi FC's Jarbas Lago got control of the ball when Marcos Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diguinho Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gláuber Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Morro Grande E.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
