The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A beautiful save bye Magnistar's goalie prevented a goal. When Cauã Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magnistar's protests and gave Cauã Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. Cauã Carneiro hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Agustín Álvarez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aírton Penha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 20 minutes into the game, Yaniusky Pardo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Magnistar's Edvaldo Branco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 26 minutes into the match, Agustín Álvarez notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Magnistar's Aírton Penha. Aírton Penha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Agustín Álvarez might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aírton Penha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Álvarez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute Agustín Álvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Álvarez in the 38th minute of play forced Magnistar's goalkeeper Aírton Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Álvarez might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aírton Penha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Álvarez ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Álvarez in the 42nd minute of play forced Magnistar's goalkeeper Aírton Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cauã Carneiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Agustín Álvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aírton Penha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nelson Abraão hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rosario Cepa in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aírton Penha saved Magnistar from getting behind. Rosario Cepa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aírton Penha having to make a save. Aírton Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosario Cepa in the 79th minute of the match. Magnistar's André Luiz Rosado was substituted for Gonzalo Ustoa. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Magnistar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Solustiano Blea took the corner. The audience was convinced that Rosario Cepa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aírton Penha was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Aírton Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosario Cepa, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Magnistar players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Uruguay.
