In the 19th minute Hubert Pentjärv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmad Abedzadeh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimo Ülend showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anoush Khalatbari, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After some careless play in the Iran defense, Hubert Pentjärv kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmad Abedzadeh. The Iran fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmad Abedzadeh should have stopped the shot. Ahmad Abedzadeh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raido Pulver in the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to Iran getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Kiumars Daneshjou hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Anoush Khalatbari made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Iran got a freekick which was hit by Nariman Mansourian. The audience thought a goal was coming when Riivo Arro got free with Ahmad Abedzadeh in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute, Nariman Mansourian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ahmad Abedzadeh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Pentjärv in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iran's goalkeeper Ahmad Abedzadeh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iran's Ahmad Abedzadeh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Iran from getting a goal against them.
