The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavian Garcon got free with Günter Wienhold in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the match, Flavian Garcon notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Günter Wienhold. Günter Wienhold was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Paul-Émile Brien got a free kick in the 17th minute. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Günter Wienhold proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the game, Werner Geißler threw the ball into play from the sideline. Rathmore Lime Tree's Benoît Lamarre quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 29 minutes into the match, Rathmore Lime Tree's Ramzi Roulleau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Günter Wienhold narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Johan Dufrenne hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rathmore Lime Tree booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximilian Breuning didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Johan Dufrenne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rathmore Lime Tree's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johan Dufrenne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabien Grub was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Gunther Trendelenburg in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Rathmore Lime Tree's Johan Dufrenne. After 58 minutes, Flavian Garcon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rathmore Lime Tree and the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th match minute, Rathmore Lime Tree was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavian Garcon to maneuver through the defense. Bolko Röhmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th match minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Wagner to maneuver through the defense. Günter Wienhold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavian Garcon in the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s zone, Flavian Garcon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Günter Wienhold came out of the goal and Flavian Garcon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. made a substitution. Fritz Nettig replaced Gunther Trendelenburg. In the 68th minute, Olaf Wagner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 played minutes Rathmore Lime Tree got a freekick which was hit by Paul-Émile Brien. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Alix Geoffray successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 74th minute Vincenzo Grifoll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alix Geoffray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Brandon Pardon got a free kick in the 76th minute. Bolko Röhmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincenzo Grifoll in the 88th minute of play forced Rathmore Lime Tree's goalkeeper Alix Geoffray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alix Geoffray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincenzo Grifoll in the 91st minute of play. Alix Geoffray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vincenzo Grifoll's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Rathmore Lime Tree were victorious despite being under pressure from SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. for much of the match.
